How we handle your answers
In plain English, on one page. If anything here is unclear, please ask us before you answer.
Who is responsible
SkyNav Europe is the data controller for this consultation. We run it on behalf of the SCAN consortium, a project funded by the European Union under grant agreement 101288550. You can reach us at privacy@skynavintl.com.
What we collect
Your name, your work email address, your employer, your role, and the answers you give. We ask for nothing else — no phone number, no personal address, nothing the assessment will not use.
We also keep a record of when your invitation was sent and opened, so that we know who still needs a reminder, and a security log of sign-in attempts in which your network address is stored only as a one-way hash.
Why we are allowed to
Our legal basis is legitimate interest: consulting professional stakeholders is how an EU-funded research project establishes what its users need, and we are contacting you in your professional capacity about work directly relevant to your role. Where you allow us to attribute a quotation or name your organisation, that specific use rests on your consent, which you give on the last page and can take back at any time.
How your answers are reported
By default, by organisation type — “three ANSPs said” rather than naming you or your employer. Named attribution happens only if you tell us on the last page that we may, and it is off unless you turn it on.
Who sees it
The SCAN WP3 team at SkyNav Europe sees individual answers. Consortium partners, the SESAR 3 Joint Undertaking and readers of the project's published deliverables see aggregated results and, where you have permitted it, attributed material. Your written answers are quoted outside the WP3 team only if you tick the box that allows it on the last page.
To help the WP3 team read every answer, we may use a language model to draft summaries of them. It runs on infrastructure within the European Union operated for SkyNav Europe, is not trained on your answers, sees them labelled by organisation type (named only where you permitted it), and has email addresses removed before it sees anything. Its drafts are only suggestions: a person checks every conclusion against the answers before it is used.
How long we keep it
Your contact details are deleted once the survey closes and any follow-up conversation you agreed to has happened. Your answers are kept, separately from your contact details, for as long as the grant agreement requires project records to be retained, because they are evidence behind a project deliverable. A security log of access to the survey — when an invitation was opened and when answers were saved, with network addresses stored only as a keyed hash — is kept for 24 months and then deleted.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can withdraw your response yourself at any time using the button at the end of the survey, and it will not be used in the assessment. You can also object to this processing altogether. Write to privacy@skynavintl.com and we will act on it.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to your national data protection authority.
Where it is held
On infrastructure operated by SkyNav Europe within the European Union. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for anything other than this project.
